Hospital glam.
I have never had so much blood drawn in my life. I’m 5 hours into a no water/no food fast for my PET scan. My skin is itchy and dry AF. Hence a few small, itchy cuts, and that irritated band-aid patch o’ skin. I bruise, but blood draws don’t really bother me much, thank God.
That is until they dehydrate you on purpose and start sticking the back of your hand because your veins are mostly hiding in terror. Positive: when I close my fist, you can see my knuckles. They’ve always been huge and prominent, until my inflammation and swelling went berzerk. Then I was so ham-fisted you couldn’t see peaks and ridges like are visible here. Thank you steroids for making my swelling, pain, and numbness tolerable.
